You know the man became an ANBU Captain at age 13, passed the Chuunin exam at age 10, mastered the sharingan at age 8, and graduated from the top of his class at age 7. Yes, all of this he’s done, and Konoha remembers him for a life served well. His personality may have been skewed surrounded by war, but he loved his village dearly in it’s time of peace. Itachi is remembered in very different ways by many different people. One side, teen caught in the psychological aftermath of war, another caring big brother image torn asunder, largely known slayer of his clan. Was he not a man of much integrity and courage, graceful as a slender-stalked plant? There are some who become shadows of themselves. If it’s possible, Itachi was born from the very day as a shadow of a happier time. Happy Birthday, Itachi.
Why I like them: I can feel a huge block of text coming on. If you want a character I like more than Sasuke, it’s Itachi - god of this show and god of sacrifice in the face of loyalty and peace. Really, for want of accuracy, we just need a parallel Uchiha Shippuden to the running Naruto Shippuden. Itachi is such a unique character - unique on so many different levels. His appearance, his goals as a character, his interactions with other characters, and his legacy in death. I love his passivity - the way he deflects Sasuke’s hateful words with wise ones, as well as his disciplines as a Shinobi. He is graceful, elegant, and while bearing the title of mass genocide is still kind. I love everything about the way Kishimoto has chosen to render him. I can find no chinks in the metaphorical armor of his life.

Favorite outfit: He’s sexy in everything - but most when he’s decked out in full ANBU gear. Mmmm, arm guards.
OTP: Itachi/Shisui, Itachi/Dead Lover, Itachi/Madara
A wish: I want one more major plot twist involving Itachi. He’s too brilliant of a character to discard. I want Lily to draw more fanart of him. I want him to flick Sasuke on the forehead one more time. I want him to give some more insightful quotes. I want to know what he’s thinking every moment. I wish he could have lived a happy life.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: Please don’t ignore Sasuke.
